Bittersweet...

Fall is bittersweet for me...
I love the cool, fresh air, The changing of the leaves,
Bringing out the sweaters and Uggs, being able to cozy up under blankets and read or knit.
But I have a harder time with Winter...
The days becoming shorter and getting dark so much earlier...
What do you do to make it through Winter?
Happy Fall!

  1. I love Fall, but it does mean Winter is right around the corner...living in a small town away from anything (like a simple Walmart) makes Winter difficult, Missouri has awful Winters. I just hang out inside and snuggle with the family by the fire, watch movies and if I am lucky I grab my knitting needles and knit away! I hope you are having a good weekend!

  2. Candles. Lots of candles. Especially the ones that smell really good. Like cookies or something. They add a little extra light and a little extra warmth on those really cold nights that don't ever seem to end.

  3. Come stay in AZ. It is never really winter here. I would imagine your winters are as awful as our summers, when all we can do is hole up and hope it all ends soon. You will just have to do lots of blogging and adventuring.

  6. Fall has become my favorite season. Winter, I can appreciate, but certainly is my least favorite. (P.S. I agree with Katie V, it's never really winter here. lol)

  7. I feel the exact same way... By the time February rolls around it is all I can do to drag myself out of bed...
I just keep telling myself that Spring does eventually come - not great advice, but unfortunately it's all I've got. hee hee (Obviously I'm not a big fan of Winter)

On a brighter note: I love your photos - they're beautiful!

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods...

  9. Love those Autumn colours in your photos!!! Winter doesn't bother me too much as I really like the change in seasons, it does drag on too long in Australia though as we don't have Christmas in the middle to brighten things up, when I lived in the Northern hemisphere Christmas always helped me through winter!!! We're in spring here now and the days are getting longer, weird .......

Thank you so much for your encouraging comments on my blog, I'm feeling much more positive now and I know I just have to grow a thicker skin, I really love being creative so that is what I'm going to focus on from now on, it's so nice to feel supported by my online friends too so thank you Tiffany!! :0)

  10. I LOVE winter! :) I wear far too many layers & all my lovely coats and get outside as much as possible to breathe in the fresh and freezing air!
Its the perfect excuse for coffee dates at whatever time, dinner parties, movie marathons and long soaks in the bath! <3
Ohhh!! And I bake like crazy! cupcakes, cookies, pies...you name it!
I tend to hibernate during the summer and come out during winter...I am one strange creature! ;)
