One of my closest friends sent me a book (Have a Little Faith~ Mitch Albom) and inside she quoted this poem~ I think it can be for a Mother or anyone else who has died~ I just wanted to share because it touched me so much~ What incredible words~ Thank you Jennie!

Loss of Mother Poem

Now that I am gone,
remember me with smiles and laughter.
And if you need to cry,
cry with your brother or sister
who walks in grief beside you.
And when you need me,
put your arms around anyone
and give to them what you need to give to me.
There are so many who need so much.
I want to leave you something --
something much better than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people I've known
or helped in some special way.
Let me live in your heart
as well as in your mind.
You can love me most
by letting your love reach out to our loved ones,
by embracing them and living in their love.
Love does not die, people do.
So, when all that's left of me is love,
give me away as best you can.

And a photo of my beautiful mom~ I miss her more than words can ever express~

  3. That. Is. Beautiful. And touching, loving, and so, so very perfect. Thank you for sharing. And this picture of your mom. I have never met her, but I see her in this and I'm smiling...grinning..from ear to ear and how beautiful and full of happiness she seems. What an amazing photo to have and remember her with. It makes me want to go and sit by her and just listen to that laugh that I'm sure is bubbling out of her. :D

  4. I am so sorry! I wish there was more I could say, but there never seems to be anything good enough to take away the pain. But at least you have some awesome memories of her, so that in a way she's with you forver. That's one thing that I've tried to do---I lost my dad suddenly in 2001 and it was extremely hard. But I try to remember him and hold onto all the little memories (I even started a mini book writing down all the things I remember about him or fun things we use to do). It's not much, but I've found that it helps me preseve his memory some.
    You're in my prayers.
And even though the loss of a mother is different, if you ever need a blog buddy to vent to/talk to-- I'd be glad to listen/share. It took me awhile to find someone to talk to and even still it's hard finding someone who understands...

  5. Hi. I found your blog through Lindsay at Pixies and Bears. I am 35 also and simply cannot imagine the loss of my mother. I am lifting you up in prayer!

  6. Tiffany, What a beautiful way to honor your MOM. Michele sent me the site, and it made me cry. Last Sunday we did a ladies' brunch at my sister's house, and we did a toast to Rena, because she had a diverse ladies' brunch a few years back, and we never forgot how fun it was. We always said we were giing to repeat it, and of course we always thought she would be there.

Grief is not measured by time. It is a personal psrocess that is measured by love.

    Love You & Brooke,
    Marie
